| 2008 Travel Advisory: Bottom line on gas is if you are at Ragged Point and don't have enough gas to go north on PCH the 85 twisty miles to Monterey or 23 miles to Cambria then you should buy gas at Ragged Point Inn, it is not the most expensive gas in the United States. Although Joe's Ragged Point Inn Gas Station Mini Mart may have some of the highest gas prices in the US at over $5.00 a gallon, whatever price it happens to be it will cost more 10 miles up the Pacific Coast at Gorda; Gorda Springs some say is the place with the most expensive gas in the US; both gas stations have to pay premium prices to have gas trucked in to there stations and Gorda produces their own electricity using expensive diesel fuel to run its generators. |
